The Used and Dead Sara at House Of Blues Orlando

Dead Sara opened up the show for headlining band, The Used, in Orlando on May 27th as apart of The Used headlining tour promoting their newest release, Vulnerable. I have never head of Dead Sara before, and when sound checking, the four piece band made up of two female guitarists, Emily Armstrong, who is also the vocalist, Siouxsie Medley, Sean Friday on drums and Chris Null playing bass.  It was a different combination for the music scene today, but let me tell you, it worked, and it worked well.  If I had to describe Dead Sara’s sound, it was a mix between old Paramore with a southern twist to it. On their first song, “Test On My Patience”, lights were low, sound was soft, and the crowd didn’t really expect much of anything, they were just excited for The Used to play right after them, but the beat got faster, the intensity was building, and when the lights went in full effect as Emily’s vocal range soared above anyone’s expectations, I knew this band has something different about them. They put on one hell of a show, and I fully encourage anyone to check this band out.   Read the rest of this entry

Whitechapel -The Recorruptour

Heavy metal rockers Whitechapel have been on the road since the beginning of March on The Recorruptour sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink and Alternative Press. At their stop last night in Orlando at the House Of Blues, the crowd was small, but ready to rock! Bathed by never ending strobe lights, the band took to the stage, opening with “Section 8″ and continued right into Breeding Violence.” The band only played 13 songs, a rather short set for a headline tour, but none the less, those 13 songs brought the rowdy fans pummeling over the barricade. The World Is Ours Tour

The World Is Ours tour is bringing madness and mayhem to venues across the US. Co-headlined by Escape The Fate and Attack Attack, along with The Word Alive, Mest, and Secrets, fans couldn’t buy tickets fast enough! Earlier this week in Orlando at the House Of Blues, the tour drew hundreds of fans ready to rock out and have a good time. After a rather bland set from both Secrets and Mest, The Word Alive set the place on fire with hardcore breakdowns and melodic screams. With a special guest vocal appearance by Craig from ETF, Telle and crew got the crowd amped for the rest of the night. Attack Attack was up next, with a set decked out with more ramps and staircases than an arena rock concert. Read the rest of this entry

Guns N Roses Up Close And Personal Tour

The once in a lifetime Guns N Roses “Up Close And Personal Tour” pulled into the Orlando House of Blues last week, and they did so with a bang! The sold out show was only announced the week before, but it was 100% packed to the walls. While the band did start an hour and a half late, the crowd was still just as excited. At their previous show last year at Orlando’s Amway Center, pyrotechnics and a massive stage set took the focus, but at the House Of Blues, it was all about the music. The band took to the stage and belted out their new song Chinese Democracy, then moved right into Welcome To The Jungle. In total, the band played 31 songs over an impressive 3 hour set; the fans didn’t even walk out the door until almost 4am! Highlights of the night were definitely the multiple covers, including Paul McCartney, The Who, Bob Dylan, and Pink Floyd.   Read the rest of this entry
