ORLANDO, FLORIDA [January 24, 2012] – Sunday night, the Amway Center hosted Jason Aldean’s ‘My Kinda Party’ tour with special guests Luke Bryan, Lauren Alaina, and Dee Jay Silver. Jason Aldean’s “Kinda Party” turned out to be a sold out one. Orlando fans partied at the Amway Center while setting a new concert attendance record of 16,014. The previous attendance record of 15,996 was set by Bon Jovi on May 15, 2011.
“We were honored to have one of country music’s most revered artist’s play our venue,” stated Amway Center Executive Director, Allen Johnson. “Orlando loves Jason Aldean and this new attendance record proves the unmatchable loyalty and energy of Central Florida fans.”
“Nothing’s hotter than country music right now, and K92FM will continue to lead the charge in supporting and promoting all the great shows coming to the new Amway Center,” said Debbie Morel, Vice President and General Manager of Cox Media Group. “Last night was a perfect example of how Orlando loves country music!”
There’s no stopping Jason Aldean; he has clearly set himself apart from the rest and he definitely knows how to throw a party. Read the rest of this entry
Rise Against recently unleashed their 2012 Endgame Tour on the US, and along with A Day To Remember and The Menzingers, they brought the rock!! While The Menzingers were nothing to write home about, A Day To Remember could have easily taken the headlining spot with all of their production and insane hometown crowd energy! August Burns Red are currently tearing up the US on a major headline tour along side Silverstein, Texas In July, and Letlive. At a recent stop in Orlando at the House Of Blues, ABR brought the mosh to a sold out crowd! Atop 5 large ego risers and bathed by strobe lights and a heavy fog, the band kicked off their set with “Empire,” then continued to play 15 songs, wreaking havoc on the fans going crazy in the pit. The set seemed to feature guest vocals from the lead singers of every opening band on the tour. Highlights included a crazy drum solo during leveler, and Jake Luhrs throwing the mic into the crowd on more than one occasion for the fans to sing with him. ABR ended the night with “composure,” leaving the crowd screaming for more. The band hinted that they would be back very soon, so look forward to a busy 2012 from August Burns Red! Anberlin is currently on the road playing some southeast US shows along with Foxy Shazam and States. States opened up last nights show in Orlando with a rather bland and forgettable set. The crowd did not seem to get into them; they were all waiting anxiously for Foxy Shazam to take the stage. If you have never seen Foxy Shazam live, you have no purpose for living! Without a doubt, hands down the most entertaining band you will ever see live! There are absolutely no words you can use to describe them; they do EVERYTHING on stage, from standing on top of keyboards to eating a whole pack of lit cigarettes while doing a handstand! Aside from their stage antics, they actually play some very good music. While the content and lyrics are interesting, the music they pair them with makes it a total package! See them live, end of story! Read the rest of this entry
To Write Love on Her Arms’ concert event at the House of Blues was a huge success. It featured acoustic music, spoken word, and conversation about recovery and rescue. Spoken work poet Anis Mojgani started off the night with a poem about hope, and then introduced the first act. Noah Gunderson played songs about hope, questions, and had honest conversation with the crowd about life. All of the music that night followed the same theme; honesty and hope. Dave Bazan, William Fitzsimmons, and Mariah McManus all played songs about their real lives, which was nice to see. Read the rest of this entry
