Skillet Awake and Alive Tour

Skillet brought the second stop of their “Awake and Alive” tour to Gainesville Florida this past week, drawing a sellout crowd to the Phillips Center. With a music hall ready to rock, We as Human, Manafest, and Disciple got the crowd warmed up for the band everyone was waiting to see. Starting off with a string section rendition of “Whispers in the Dark,” Skillet emerged from behind a drop and punched the crowd in the face with rock! Continuing on playing Whispers, Skillet set off on an hour and a half musical journey that covered all of their hit songs. With a stage setup like no other, including cyro, moving risers, and a spinning drum set, fans were in for a show they would never forget. Skillet managed to blend the perfect combination of rock and roll and spreading their Christian message. The show had many different levels to it. Between solo acoustic songs, spinning drum solos, and band members dressed in costumes and masks, fans never knew what would come next.  Skillet played a wide array of songs, such as Hero, Awake and Alive, Lucy, Whispers, It’s not me it’s you, Better than Drugs, Monster (with their now famous monster stage prop), and finished out the night with Rebirthing. Whether you are in it for the religious aspect or not, Skillet puts on one of the most amazing rock shows you will ever see. With a nonstop tour schedule, Skillet isn’t far from taking over the world, and I would not want it any other way.
