Waiting 4U Tour with Greyson Chance
13 Year old Greyson Chance has been making headlines ever since his YouTube debut exactly one year ago. Now, Chance has a manager, a major record deal, a rapidly growing fan base, and just about everything else an aspiring musician could ask for. With so much falling into his lap at such a young age, one might think that the “Bieber-like” rock star attitude might set in. I can assure you that this is not the case. Greyson is one of the most friendly, down to earth, gracious individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He gladly signed autographs for every fan that wanted one after a recent show at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach SC. With a heartfelt thank you amid the hugs and kisses he received from countless fans, the huge smile never left his face. You can tell that his newfound popularity and fame has not gone to his head. Greyson’s Waiting 4U Tour is making its way across the country along with fellow teen sensations Cody Simpson, Shane Harper, and Camryn. While the opening acts were less than stellar, shrieks filled the air as soon as the curtains were pulled back, revealing Chance’s signature piano. With a short 30 minute set, Chance filled his time with multiple covers including “Fire” by Augustana, “Empire State Of Mind” by Jay-z, and the ever famous “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga, the song that started it all. He played a few of his own songs as well, such as the brand new “Unfriend You” and “Waiting Outside the Lines.” While Chance, for some odd reason, was not “headlining” this tour, he certainly deserved that spot. Unlike his touring counterpart Simpson, Chance did not depend on vocal backing tracks, flashing lights, and dancers to entertain the crowd; all he needed was his incredible voice. The vocal range of this kid is amazing, he can hit notes that most musicians can only dream about. Although he had a small backup band,Chance was always the center of attention, letting his piano skills do all the talking. He left the fans screaming for more, signaling that this isn’t just his 15 minutes of fame. Give it a few years, and Greyson Chance will be bigger than Justin Bieber or the Jonas Brothers ever will be, because he has the actual talent to back him up!
