Take Action Tour 2011

The annual Take Action tour is making its 2011 run with Silverstein, Bayside, Polar Bear Club, The Swellers, and Texas in July. As usual, the tour is supporting a good cause; this year happens to be Sex etc, which helps teen understand everything about sex in a safe and informative way. Kicking off a recent show in Raleigh was Texas in July, a metal group that didn’t really fit the rest of the lineup. The Swellers were up next, putting on one of their always great shows. A very underrated band for sure, expect to see lots more of them this year. Polar Bear Club was up next, playing a surprisingly good set. From the few times I had heard them in the past, I expected nothing like this. Their music, on top of their live show, is just great! I highly recommend checking them out if you have not already. Silverstein took to the stage next, much to the fans delight. The boys put on a show that really should have headlined. They are the perfect mix of pop and hardcore, with all the right sound in-between. The fans loved it, jumping and singing along the whole time. Luckily, Silverstein got an hour to play; any amount less and the fans might have rioted. Bayside was unfortunately up next… Not much to say about them. They came off cocky and arrogant like they didn’t care or want to be there. Their tour manager also unfairly removed photographers from the show for trying to do their job. Not impressed with them at all. Overall, this was a very solid lineup for the Take Action tour. They are drawing large crowds for a good time and raising awareness; just what Take Action set out to do in the first place.
